Open-Source and Cloud computing
I'm involved in the following OpenStack projects: Clustering service (Senlin),DNS service (Designate)
I have been an active contributor to OpenStack for many years, and I have focused heavily on keeping projects like Designate and Senlin alive and healthy. I am a big believer in the potential and ethos of open source and I'm now hoping to take the next step and contribute more than just code. Open source can improve the world in which we live in an infinite number of ways, and I love being a part of that.
I have some experience serving as a board member for my hometown's E-Sports Association, but more importantly, I believe that my unique perspective from the gaming industry will provide invaluable insight to the Board; Diverse representation in all facets is key to any successful Board.
The primary role of the Board is to understand, represent and reflect the needs of the community, and a key component of this is diversity. I see diversity of ideas, identity, industry, and expertise as the most important aspect of building a well-balanced, versatile, and innovative Board.
Collaboration and simplicity are the two ideas that I believe should be the Board's top priorities. Collaboration should occur through outreach and education of bright talent from diverse industries and walks of life. This, in combination with a focus on keeping projects and ideas simple, so they're easy to integrate with other open-source communities, should be high on the agenda. This will lead to a balanced, sustainable type of success that will put the Open Infrastructure Foundation on the cutting edge of progress.
